The birth of the Son of God and it's prophetic significance

The Bible is absolutely clear that Jehoshua is the Son of God in indentity. In this study, we will look at the three events of Jehoshua's life that affirmed and validated His Sonship of Jehovah God.

Luke 1:32-35

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and Jehovah God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 and he shall reign over the house of Israel for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.

This is a rich passage that is filled with prophetic fulfillment in regards to the Davidic covenant. Here the angel Gabriel is giving Mary the good news that she will give birth to a Son who will fulfill the oath that Jehovah God made with David. In verse 32, the angel Gabriel connects the Sonship of Jehoshua with the throne of David. This paralells 1 Chronicles 28:

5 And of all my sons (for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel. 6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

Notice here that David says that Jehovah chosen Solomon to sit on the throne of the Kingdom of Jehovah (throne of David) and that Jehovah has chosen Solomon to be His son. We clearly see here that sitting on the throne of David is equivalent to be chosen to be Jehovah's son. This goes back to the oath Jehovah made with David in 2nd Samuel 7:

13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men.

The integral aspect of the Davidic covenant is the connection with the throne of David and being God's son. We see this in the above verses. Jehovah made a covenant with David's royal offsrping that He would be a father to them and they would be His son. This covenant wasn't made with all of David's sons, only those who would be established on the throne (verse 13).

Now we can see what is going on in Luke chapter 1, the angel Gabriel is announcing to Mary that she is going to have a Son and that he is going to fulfill the Davidic covenant. Just as the throne of David and the sonship of Jehovah are connected in 2nd Samuel 7 and 1 Chronicles 28 they are connected here in Luke 1.

Notice that the Sonship in verse 32 is future tense showing that Mary is not pregnant yet. Also, in verse 33 Jehoshua will reign over the Kingdom of Israel forever. This is another component to the Davidic covenant which is also connected to the Sonship of Jehovah is that the Davidic King would reign over the house of Israel. The Messianic King of bible prophecy was only promised one throne and one Kingdom and that was the throne of David and the Kingdom of Israel. 

Jehoshua was not promised to be King over something called the Catholic Church nor the Protestant church. This is important to understand because it truly shows who Jehoshua is in identity and also the nature of the church i.e. eccesliology.

Mary wondered how this was going to unfold and in verse 35 the angel tells her that the holy Spirit is going to overshadow her and a child will be begotten in her. This is speaking of the conception process. Gabriel reiterates to Mary that this boy shall be (future tense) called the Son of God. Again. Mary was not pregnant here so this is something that is in the near future.

Let's go to Matthew 1 to see the fulfilment of this announcement by Gabriel:

Matthew 1:18-21

18 Now the birth of Jehoshua Messiah was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.20 But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of Jehovah appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is begotten in her is of the Holy Spirit.21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JEHOSHUA; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.

Mary was found with child of the holy Spirit just as the angel told her in Luke 1:35. Mary in this passage is pregnant. The angel of Jehovah comfirms to Joseph that which is begotten (conception) is of the Holy Spirit. So the begetting her is obviously the conception process as Jehoshua wasn't born yet. Verse 21 says that Mary shall (future tense) bring forth (give birth to) a Son. It's important to distinguish the conception of Jehoshua and the  giving birth of him. The conception of Jehoshua is the moment He was begotten by Jehovah God via the holy Spirit.

Just as Jehovah directly involved Himself in the birth of Isaac and Jeremiah, He also directly involved Himself with the birth of Jehoshua but this time in a much greater way via begetting Jehoshua Himself.

Now let's look at a couple of prophecies from the lively oracles where Jehoshua's birth was foretold:

Isaiah 7:14

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel"

The virgin is Mary and her conceiving is referring to Jehoshua being begotten in her. Her bearing a son refers to the actual birth of Jehoshua. His name shall be called "immanuel" meaning "God with us" as stated in Matthew 1:23. This doesn't mean that the child begotten would be literally God but rather that the birth of this Messianic child would be a sign that God remembered His promises to the nation of Israel especially the covenant He made with David. We will see the realization that Jehovah God has not forgotten His people when we look at how certain members of Israel reacted to the announcement of his birth and the birth itself.  For now let's go to Isaiah 9:6-7;

6 For unto us a child is begotten, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

The child being begotten refers to the work of the Holy Spirit begetting Jehoshua in Mary's womb. The Son being given refers to His birth. The government being placed upon his shoulder is the Kingdom of David (Isaiah 22).

This is another Isaiah prophecy about the birth of the Messiah. In verse 6 we see the titles he shall be called. It's important to understand that this propechy of the birth of Messiah is rooted in the promise that God made to David as it says that the increase of his government will be upon the throne of David (verse 7).

The zeal of Jehovah would perform this, meaning the Father would see to it that His oath made to David would be fulfilled no matter what. The Davidic covenant was an unconditional one.

Let's no go back to the gospels and see the significance of the birth of the Messiah and what it meant to the people of Israel:

Luke 1:54-55

54 He hath given help to Israel his servant, That he might remember mercy 55 (As he spake unto our fathers) Toward Abraham and his seed for ever.

This is part of Mary's song and she is praising Jehovah for giving help to the people of Israel by way of the Messianic Son that she was told she would give birth to. Mary as well as others understood the prophecies of the coming Messiah as the Saviour of Israel. For Mary, the announcement of the birth of the prophesied Davidic King was a sign that God was with her and her people (Isaiah 7:14). Mary mentions the covenant promise Jehovah made with Abraham. 

We see the gospel of the only begotten Son given as a sacrifice in an object lesson in Genesis 22. Because of Abraham's faith, it was granted to him that through his seed all nations of the earth would be blessed and that he would be a father of many nations. As Paul mentions in Galatians, those in Messiah are the true seed of Abraham. Jehoshua is the seed singular (Gal 3:16) meaning the federal head (only begotten) of the many offspring (seed) of Abraham i.e. those baptized in Messiah (Gal 3:27).

Luke 1:67-74

67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel; For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people, 69 And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of his servant David 70 (As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from of old),71 Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72 To show mercy towards, our fathers, And to remember his holy covenant; 73 The oath which he spake unto Abraham our father, 74 To grant unto us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies Should serve him without fear,

Zacharias prophesied after the birth of his son John the Baptist, praising Jehovah God for visiting His people by sending them redemption through the house of David. Again, notice here the visiting of Jehovah God isn't in reference to God literally coming down and being born but rather Jehovah visiting Israel by Him keeping His prophetic promises to them. "Horn of salvation" is a reference to a King's great power and this "horn of salvation" was prophesied to come through the dynasty of David. Here Zacharias is speaking of the coming birth of Jehoshua Messiah.

Zacharias own son's birth was a sign that God was raising up to Israel the messiah they had long anticipated. The eschatological Davidic King was to be the Saviour of Israel and deliver them from their enemies. Zacharias, like Mary, references the Abrahamic covenant.

Jehovah's plan was for the Davidic shepherd to deliver Israel from their enemies so that they can worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Luke 2:10-11

10 And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people:

11 for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Messiah the King.

This is the angel of the Holy Spirit speaking to the shepherds giving them the good news that the Davidic of bible prophecy is born. This was the hope of Israel which is that a Davidic Savior would be raised up Jehovah God to redeem them.

Luke 2:25-6

25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Jehovah`s Measiah.

Simeon like others in Israel was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Davidic Messiah referred to here as the consolation of Israel. The coming Davidic Shepherd was to be the comforter (consolation) of His people (1 John 2:1). Notice in verse 26 that there is a clear distinction between Jehovah and His Messiah. To be the Messiah of Jehovah means you are not Jehovah but rather His anointed one. Jehovah does not need to be anointed by anyone for He does the anointing.

Luke 2:34-35

34 and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against; 35 yea and a sword shall pierce through thine own soul; that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed.

The arrival of the Messiah would be a double edged sword to the nation of Israel. Those who would fall would be the religious establishment of Judea culminating in the destruction of the temple and the city in A.D. 70.  Even later than that the synagogue system endorsed a false messiah (Bar Kochba) who led a revolt against Rome which caused the Jews to be exiled from the land permanently in 135 A.D.

The rising of many would be those poor in spirit (Matthew 5:5,10). It was oftentimes the one's looked down on by the religious establishment that were taken to victory on eagles wings. Those who realized their need and were humble enough to acknowledge it were raised to newness of life in Messiah and given the Kingdom being made kings and priests (Ephesians 1:4; 2:6).

A sword would even pierce the soul of Mary as she would have to witness the persecution, passion and death of her son. Not only that seeing him go full time into the ministry would be tough for her initially.

Matthew 2:1-2

1 Now when Jehoshua was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 2 Where is he that is born King of the Judeans? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

As prophecy stated the Kingship would be from the tribe of Judah. The wise men of the east had come to Jerusalem to ask where was the newborn king. They had come to worship the future King of Israel. They followed a eastern star to where the Messiah was born:

Numbers 24:17

"I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not nigh: There shall come forth a star out of Jacob, And a sceptre shall rise out of Israel, And shall smite through the corners of Moab, And break down all the sons of tumult"

This was a prophecy of the Messianic kings to rise out of Judah but namely Jehoshua. In the new testament Jehoshua is called the day star and the bright and morning star. The sceptre represents Kingship. It is fitting that the wise men would locate the new born king by following a star.

Matthew 2:5-6

5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written through the prophet, 6 And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come forth a governor, Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel.

Herod was inquiring where the king was to be born so that he could kill him as the coming Davidic King was a threat to his puppet throne. The chief priests and scribes answered him by quoting Micah 5:2 which shewed that the eschatological Davidic King would be born in Bethlehem in the land of Judah. It's important to note here that the prophet Micah said this future King would rule over Israel. Again, Jehoshua is not the King of the Protestant-Evangelical church, Catholic church or Orthodox Church. This is why it's important to identify ourselves as Israelites not the aforementioned names of the various Gentile churches.

Matthew 2:14-15

14 And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt; 15 and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Jehovah through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I call my son.

After Herod sent a flood of persecution after Jehoshua his father took him to Egypt to escape. After Herod died, Joseph by a dream was told by the angel of the holy Spirit to bring back Jehoshua and Mary back into the land of Israel (Matthew 2:19-20).

This was to fulfill prophecy as noted in verse 15 of Matthew 2, as Jehovah called His Son out of Egypt (Hosea 11:1):

"When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt"

Israel made the first born son of Jehovah by election:

Exodus 4:22-23

22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, my first-born:23 and I have said unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and thou hast refused to let him go: behold, I will slay thy son, thy first-born.

Jehoshua being called out of Egypt was so that like the nation of Israel he could serve his God Jehovah. Jehoshua being referred to as the Son of Jehovah preserves the distinction between the two. Just as Israel was not God but rather the firstborn son and servant of God the same goes for Jehoshua.

The title of firstborn denotes preeminence and rank. Israel as a nation is a type of Jehoshua both of whom were elected by Jehovah God to firstborn status. It was because of Jehovah electing Jehoshua that he then begot him in the womb of Mary. The firstborn Son is the heir to the Father's inheritance. The Son of God is the heir of all things:

Hebrews 1:1-2

1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners, 2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;

All things basically include to be ruler of God's Kingdom, now in it's spiritual phase but ultimately in it's fulfilment in the age to come. This Kingdom is called the Kingdom of Jehovah God which is eqauted with the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of David ( 1 Chronicles 28:5). This rulership of the Messiah over God's Kingdom is operated from the throne of David (Isaiah 9:7).

The gospel of Jehoshua Messiah, the Son of God

 Mark 1:1

"The beginning of the gospel of Jehoshua Messiah, the Son of God"

Understanding the above verse is key in terms of what exactly is the gospel. It is also key in understanding what is required for salvation. There are two opposite extremes predominate right now in Churchianity, one is the faith alone easy believism of Protestantism/Evangelicalism and the other is the return to the law of Moses of the Hebrew roots movement and Messianic Judaism.

The end result for both systems is disobeying the commandments given by the Son of God on the sermon on the mount. One ends up in lawlessness and the other ends up in legalism.

Mark connects the beginning of the Son of God's gosepl with His baptism at the Jordan river:

Mark 1;9-11

9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jehoshua came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my Son; This day have I begotten thee.

This fulfilled the Isaiah 11 prophecy in which a Branch of David would be anointed with the full measure of Jehovah's Spirit. This anointing of the Davidic King would begin the gospel of the Kingdom preaching which Mark calls the gospel of Jehoshua Messiah, the Son of God.

Between verses 1 and 9, both Isaiah and Malachi are quoted prophesying of John the Baptist making way for Jehovah God. Jehovah God came to the nation of Israel through His Davidic Messiah.  It is the baptism of Jehoshua that marks the beginning of His gospel which is the gospel of the Kingdom.

Mark 1:14-15

14Now after that John was put in prison, Jehoshua came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,15And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Jehoshua preached the gospel of the Kingdom, He did not preach the gospel of Protestantism or any other man made system such as Adventism or Mormonism. When Jehoshua says here that the time is fulfilled He is likely referring to the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel:

Daniel 9:24

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."

The anointing of the most Holy refers to the baptism of Jehoshua who became the temple where Jehovah dwelt during His earthly ministry. This began the 70th week of the 70 weeks prophecy. For it was through the ministry of Jehoshua that God was reconciling the world unto Himself. It was the time when men were commanded to turn from their iniquities and receive the everlasting righteousness of the Son of God.

Daniel 9:27

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

This is after 69 weeks of the 70 weeks prophecy. The first 7 weeks of years refer to the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem and the next 62 weeks of years after that lead up to Messiah the prince (Dan 9:25). Messiah confirms the covenant with the nation of Israel at His anointing (baptism) beginning the final week of the 70 weeks prophecy.

Verse 15 of Mark 1, Jehoshua said shortly after His baptism that the Kingdom of God is (present tense) at hand meaning "near". This statement somehow has been turned into "the Kingdom of God is more than 2,000 years away". The dispensationalists, many Unitarians, Messianic Jews and Hebrew roots have perverted the above statement by Jehoshua that the Kingdom of God was arriving to the nation of Israel during His ministry.

The gospel commands men everywhere to repent and to believe in the gospel. It is not to believe in the supposed gospel of reformed theology, arminius theology or any of the other man made theologies of Christendom. It is the gospel of God's Kingdom also called the gospel of Jehoshua Messiah, the Son of God because He is the Davidic King of the Kingdom.

What are the contents of this gospel of the Son of God?

Luke 4:18-21

18The Spirit of Jehovah is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,19To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.20And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.21And he began to say unto them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.

The gospel is a message salvation and restoration both spiritually and physically. Healing and freedom are essential characteristics of Jehoshua's good news message. Spritual rebirth (recovery of sight to the blind) i.e being begotten from above is a key component of the gospel. As stated while there is definitley a physical aspect to the Kingdom message the spiritual message is what brings one into it.

Freedom from the bondage of sin, spiritual eyesight to see the Kingdom and healing for those who are hurting from life's dissapointments are what the Kingdom offers. There is a real tangible component to Jehoshua's gospel message as it is not dry theology that He offers but rather a real living experience of God's goodness and mercy.

Jehoshua wants us to:

"Oh taste and see that Jehovah is good: Blessed is the man that taketh refuge in him." (Psalm.34:8).

Man's hurts and dissapoints are important to God, He desires restoration for the troubled person who is a bruised reed. Jehoshua also said:

Matthew 12:20-21

" 20A bruised reed shall he not break, And smoking flax shall he not quench, Till he send forth judgment unto victory. 21 And in his name shall the Gentiles hope.

Here Jehoshua quotes the prophet Isaiah and the meaning of the above passage is that Jehoshua will be gentle with the one that is spiritually and emotionally bruised. He will also not put out whatever small fire of life someone has in them. Instead, our King will bring the hurting and tired ones justice until they have victory. Jehoshua even desired salvation for His enemies:

Luke 9:56

"For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village."

Jehoshua's gospel mission was a rescue mission as He came to heal, bind and set free. These Kingdom principles are to be lived out by it's subjects. The problem is that much of the church thinks that the Kingdom is a future event instead of a present reality.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Mark 4:19

"and the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful"

Jehoshua wants to take the cares of this world off of us and that includes money. The easy and light yoke Jehoshua offered was an intimate relationship with the Father and Himself. It was to take the heavy burdens of man made traditions off of the children of Israel and give them the light of God's character (John 1:18).

Far from the abstract systematic theology of the Protestant/Evangelical churches, true Christianity/Messiansim offers good news to those who are willing to drink of the living water of the Son of God.

Mark 2:17

"And when Jehoshua heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

The good news of the gospel of the Son of God ia that He came to break through the barriers of self righteous religion and offer forgiveness to sinners and healing to those who are both physically and spiritually sick.

Jehoshua, Son of David

 Luke 20:41-44

41And he said unto them, How say they that the Messiah is David`s son?42For David himself saith in the book of Psalms, Jehovah said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,43Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.44David therefore calleth him Lord, and how is he his son.

This was a puzzling question that Messiah posed to those in the audience listening. The prophets of the old testament clearly foretold that the Messianic King would be of the line of David so clearly Jehoshua wasn't contradicting this.

Many use the above passage to prove that Jehoshua is God yet all throughout the new testament we see that He is God's Son not God Almighty Himself. So why does David called Jehoshua "Lord"?

The answer is very simple and it has nothing to do with the trinity doctrine. Lord here means "King" and Psalm 110, from which Jehoshua qoutes, is a prophesy of David's offspring being enthroned as the King of Israel according to the promise Jehovah made to David (2nd Samuel 7).

Remember, it is not David himself that is the eschatological Davidic King but one of his Son's. This means at the resurrection when Jehoshua comes back to physically rule over the new heavens and new earth that He will be David's King (Lord). So what Jehoshua is talking about above is status, position and authority.

David will serve Jehoshua as His King in the new heavens and new earth. The above passage has even been used to discount that Jehoshua is literally the Son of David. This Satanic idea is easily refuted when we simply read the words of Jehoshua Himself:

Revelation 22:16

"I Jehoshua  have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star."

This is the last full sentence spoken by Jehoshua in the bible. It is significant because it shows clearly His identity and nature which has largely been perverted by mainstream Christianity.

Luke 1:32

"He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and Jehovah God shall give unto him the throne of his father David"

Clearly the angel Gabriel says that David is the father of Jehoshua which aligns with all of  bible prophecy.

Luke 18:35-38

35 And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36 and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant. 37 And they told him that Jehoshua of Nazareth passeth by.38And he cried, saying, Jehoshua, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

It was well known among those who had heard of Jehoshua that he was the Son of David.

Luke 1:68-69

68 Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel; For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people, 69 And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of his servant David.

Zacharias is prophesying about the arrival of the Messiah as a visitation of Jehovah God to the people of Israel. The birth of the Son of God was a sign that God was raising up a horn (power) of salvation. The people of Israel at the time of Messiah's arrival knew that He would be from the house of David.

Psalm 132:11

"Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne."

This hearkens to the Davidic covenant as Jehovah promised that He will raise up the Messianic King from the fruit of David's body. This was an unconditional covenant Jehovah made with David. There is no doubt, that in order to be true Messiah, Jehoshua had/has to be the fruit of David's lions.

Romans 1:3

"concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh"

Paul says that Jehoshua was born of the seed (sperm) of David. This simply confirms what the prophets fotetold concerning the Messiah & the promise made to David. It also is in line with the testimony of the new testament.

Revelation 5:5

"And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof."

Jehoshua is the Davidic King

Separation in the final hours

Matthew 15:14

"Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch"

Here Jesus is talking about the Pharisees. The Pharisees were false teachers who twisted God's word to support their own man made traditions.

Jesus said this after the disciples told Him that the Pharisees got offended that He (Jesus) called them out on breaking God's commandments in order to support their man made doctrines. In other words, Jesus told the disciples not to bother with them or try to convince them of the truth. He even indicates to also leave alone those who follow them. He said both the blind guides (Pharisees) and those who listen to them will fall into a ditch. This ditch will be the Lake of fire at the last day.

Jesus did not try to convince people more than once as He knew that if these people were not planted by His heavenly Father they would be uprooted anyways. He felt it useless to try and convince them of His Father's word. Jesus gives us sound advice elsewhere regarding this principle:

Matthew 7:6

"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."

We should not try to keep reaching those who outright reject the gospel and especially if they are hostile to it. Jesus describes them as dogs and swine. He says it is a waste of time to try and give them God's pearls of wisdom which is the gospel of the Kingdom. Because they are reprobate all they will do is trample them underfoot like pigs and then come and tear you to pieces.

This is why it is folly to debate and argue with Atheists who the bible calls fools. When believers in Christ try to give them the gospel they mock and scorn and deride us and what we believe. They are a perfect example of what Jesus is describing above.

1 John 4:5-6

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

In context, John is talking about the false prophets who have the spirit of antichrist and go out into the world to deceive people. Notice that John says the world hears these false prophets who deny the Sonship of Christ. Why do they hear these false prophets? Because both of them are of the world having the spirit of antichrist.

We should not wonder when the world rejects the message of the gospel yet embraces the message of the false prophets as the spirit of antichrist is in them. The world hears and loves it's own. 

The false prophets speak of worldly principles and idealogies therefore the world listens to them because they also believe in those idealogies. However, those who know Jehovah God hear those who preach the apostles doctrine. Many who outright reject the gospel have already been given over to a strong delusion by God and believe a lie. We need to be intune with the holy Spirit and discern when someone who is a swine so that we don't waste our time in giving them pearls lest they turn and tear us to pieces.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

There is a point where God gives someone over to their sin and a lie. This is the strong delusion. This starts with the persons rejection of the truth which is God's word. This is why it is fruitless to debate and argue with people as they may have already been given over to the strong delusion. As the time approaches the second advent of Christ this will become more pronounced and it is God's way of separating the sheep from the goats. We must use our God given discernment and recognize when this is the case and not go against God's will of separation.

The Breaker of Bozrah

Isaiah 63:1

"Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save."

Who is this? The answer is Christ the King (Revelation 19:13). Jesus as the Davidic King will comes to the earth wearing His majestic crown and His Kingly apparel:

Revelation 19:11-12

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Jesus speaks in righteousness as His name is called the word of God:

"And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."  (Revelation 19:13).

Jesus Christ is mighty to save as is our Savior

Bozrah was a nation descended from Esau, frequently representative of all peoples hostile to Jehovah God and His people:

Isaiah 34:6

"The sword of Jehovah is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Jehovah hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

Again, Bozrah represents the nations at the end of time that will be against Jehovah and His Christ. The sword of Jehovah will be filled with blood on that day that His Son treads the winepress of the grapes of wrath (unbelievers). Jehovah God will have a sacrifice in Bozrah on the great and terrible day of His wrath. This sacrifice will be the slaughtering of dead bodies in Edom which is a type of the unbelieving world at the second advent.

Verses 2 and 3 of Isaiah 63:

2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

Jesus garments will be stained blood red just as Revelation 19:13 says. Jesus treads the winepress of His Father's wrath as we see in Revelation 14:

19And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.20And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

We see that when the Son of God tramples the grapes of wrath (unbelievers) blood will flow throughout the cities and villages of earth. The earth will be soaked in blood.

Revelation 19:15

"And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God"

Upon the return of Christ He will dash the nations (Bozrah) to pieces like a potter's vessel and tread the winepress of Jehovah's wrath. Isaiah 63:3 says that Jesus will do this in anger and in fury. The blood of the unbelievers upon the return of Christ will be on His garments. In fact, the blood of them will stain all His garments meaning His clothing will be soaked blood red.

Luke 19:27

"But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

Do you hear this in church? Jesus will actually have His enemies brought before Him and killed in front of Him.

Verse 4 of Isaiah 63

"For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come."

Jesus has this day of vengeance in his heart against the unbelievers where He will kill them in His anger. It will also be the day of redemption for His brethren.

Verse 6 of Isaiah 63

"And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth."

Do you hear this? Jesus is gonna trod the unbelievers underfoot in His anger and pour out their blood!

The narrow gate

Matthew 7:13-14

13Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.14For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.

We often talk about the narrow road yet we don't talk about what being on the narrow road actually means. The above passage where Jehoshua says to enter into the narrow gate is within the context of His teachings on the sermon on the mount. Many Pastor's leave this out when quoting this passage. Why is this? Because entering the narrow gate is specific to keeping Jehoshua's commandments here in the sermon on the mount. The narrow gate is not about agreeing to certain facts about who Jehoshua is but rather it is actually picking up your cross and following His teachings.

Today many Christian's don't believe that keeping the commandments of the Son of God are a requirement to remain in the faith. Why is this? Jehoshua tells us in the verse right after the above passage:

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep`s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves."

Jehoshua warns people to beware of false prophets within the context of His teachings. These prophets may look and smell like Christian's but they are actually wolves who sre trying to steer people away from the narrow gate of Jehoshua's commandments.

Matthew 16:24

"Then said Jehoshua unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

This statement by Jehoshua eliminates the false dispensaltional teaching that Paul was given a different revelation for the Gentiles that excuses them from having to follow the commandments of the Son of God. Anyone who comes after the Son of God and claims to represent Him must deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Jehoshua. We are faced with two options, either Paul did what Jehoshua said to do here or he is one of the false prophets warned about in Matthew 7:15.

Thankfully brother Paul did indeed deny himself, pick up his cross and follow Jehoshua. Paul even warns against false prophets who do not consent to the words (doctrine) of Messiah.

1 Timothy 6:3

"If any man teacheth a different doctrine, and consenteth not to sound words, even the words of our Lord Jehoshua Messiah, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;"

The doctrine (instructions) of Jehoshua are according to godliness and Paul goes on to say if any man does not consent to the doctrine of Messiah they are proud, knowing nothing.

Matthew 10:37-38

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.38 And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.

Jehoshua demands absolute loyalty even above family relationships. Our loyalty to Jehoshua will often look like hatred towards our family members. Most professing Christian's simply don't have the stomach for this yet Jehoshua doesn't let them off the hook and even says that they are not worthy of Him because they don't take up their cross which in context is loving Jehoshua more than your children, parents and spouse.

Matthew 11:12

"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and men of violence take it by force."

Entry into the narrow gate of the Kingdom is done with force and it is not a passive type intellectualism. Those who to be part of the Kingdom must step into it with violence and willingly forsake all, pickup their cross and obey the teachings of Jehoshua.

Luke 12:8-9

8 And I say unto you, Every one who shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 but he that denieth me in the presence of men shall be denied in the presence of the angels of God.

To confess Jehoshua is to obey His commandments, to deny Him is to disobey His commandments. To refuse to pick up your cross & follow the teachings of the Son of God is to deny Him.

New Jerusalem, our hope!

Hebrews 12:22-24

22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,24And to Jehoshua the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

With so much emphasis on earthly Jerusalem by much of the church including the Hebrew roots and Messianic Jews, it's often forgotten that we as new covenant believers are not to look to it at all. Infact, we are told by the author of Hebrews that we come unto the heavenly Jerusalem which is the real and only city of the living God Jehovah. Much of the book of Hebrews contrasts the old covenant worship system of earthly Jerusalem with the far better new covenant worship system which we are told is headqaurtered in New Jerusalem in heaven.

We are told in Hebrews that the true tabernacle is in heaven where the only legitimate High Priest operates His ministry. That High Priest is Jehoshua of the order of Melchizedek. The membership roll call of the church of the firstborn Son of God is in New Jerusalem. Verse 18 says "ye are not come unto a mount that might be touched" which is an obvious reference to the old covenant and earthly Jerusalem. In verse 24 we are told to look to Jehoshua who is the mediator of the new covenant which is signified by the sprinlling of His blood on the mercyseat in heaven and speaks better things than any of the sacrifices of the old testament.

Hebrews 13:12-14

12Wherefore Jehoshua also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.13Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.14For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

The author of Hebrews exhorts the believers to come forth spiritually out of earthly Jerusalem and it's outdated worship system and bear the reproach of Messiah who suffered without the gate of the Jersusalem temple. The author of Hebrews wants the brethren to leave the old covenant worship system and come unto New Jerusalem and the far superior new covenant. Infact, he says that we have no continuing city here (earthly Jerusalem) but we seek one to come (heavenly Jerusalem). The heavenly Jerusalem is what the Son of God promised the believers who overcome, He never promised them earthly Jerusalem:

Revelation 3:12

"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name."

It is crystal clear that Jehoshua promises us New Jerusalem which will come down out of heaven to the earth after His second advent. If earthly Jerusalem was to be the home of the saints after Jehoshua's return then why doesn't He mention that as the city they will inherit if they overcome? It's quite simple, because earthly Jerusalem has no significance for the saints as we are told we have no continuing city here on earth but we seek one to come which Jehoshua clearly says is New Jerusalem in heaven.

Galatians 4:25-26

25For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.26But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Paul says that earthly Jerusalem is in bondage along with her children who are still stuck in the old covenant which he eqautes to Hagar and is represented by mount Sinai. Paul says that New Jerusalem which is in heaven is free and is our mother. New Jerusalem represents the liberty we have in Messiah (Galatians 5;1) whereas earthly Jerusalem represents the yoke of the old covenant which tends towards bondage. Why is it that so many Christians and Hebrew roots folks are obessed and/or focused on earthly Jerusalem? Because they have been decieved !
