Jesus as the literal Son of God and not a member of a triune god.

Jesus as the literal Son of God

This is super important! Look at verse 3, it says that God (Jehovah) sent and I quote "his own Son". This right here refutes the false teaching that Jesus Christ is not the literal Son of God the Father. Some say Christ only became the Son at His virgin birth, but how could this be if He was already God's Son prior to being sent. Jehovah God couldn't send something He already didn't have which in this case is a Son. Jehovah and Jesus aren't role playing a Father/Son relationship as some teachings indicate. Jehovah didn't send a co equal, co eternal member of a Triune Godhead to us, He sent His literal Son Jesus to us. The Father/Son relationship of Christ with Jehovah is beautiful and it is because of this, that we can call the Son "God" and this Father/Son relationship also gives Christ full Divinity and Diety. The weight of evidence in Scripture points to Jesus Christ as the literal Son of God. Some teachings say that Christ as the "Son of God" is just a title but that is absolutely not supported by scripture. Jesus Christ was the Son of God before the creation of this world, before His virgin birth on this earth and He is still the Son of God now.

Romans 8:3-4 (KJV)

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin

ACTS 5:30-31 (RSB)

5:30 The Elohim of our fathers raised up Yahshua, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

5:31 Him hath Yahweh exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Remember when Jesus said no man has seen the Father? Here is an example of that. At Mount Sinai, it was the angel of Jehovah that appeared to Moses.  Who was this angel? It was likely the preexistent Messiah Jehoshua. Remember, it was said of our Saviour Jehoshua that he was the rock that was with the Israelites in the wilderness. This same rock was the Angel of Jehovah that had the power to forgive transgressions as said stated by Jehovah himself to Moses. Jehovah also said that this Angel had His very name in him hence Jehoshua which means "The Salvation of Jehovah". Remember, no typical angel has the power to forgive sins however Jehoshua was not a typical angel but rather the Archangel Michael which simply means Chief Messenger  (Archangel) and Who is like God (Michael). Both of these terms fit Jehoshua's character. He was the Chief Messenger of His Father Jehovah as He himself said that He didn't come to speak His own words but rather His Father's words. He also is the only being who is the express image of God hence the term "Who is like God".

ACTS 7:30-38 (RSB)

7:30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of Yahweh in a flame of fire in a bush.

7:31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of Yahweh came unto him,

7:32 Saying, I am the Elohim of thy fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, and the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

7:33 Then said Yahweh to him, PUT OFF THY SHOES FROM THY FEET: FOR THE PLACE WHERE THOU STANDEST IS HOLY GROUND.

7:34 I HAVE SEEN THE AFFLICTION OF MY PEOPLE WHICH IS IN EGYPT, AND I HAVE HEARD THEIR GROANING, AND AM COME DOWN TO DELIVER THEM. AND NOW COME, I WILL SEND THEE INTO EGYPT.

7:35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, WHO MADE THEE A RULER AND A JUDGE? the same did Elohim send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

7:36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A PROPHET SHALL YAHWEH YOUR ELOHIM RAISE UP UNTO YOU OF YOUR BRETHREN, LIKE UNTO ME; HIM SHALL YE HEAR.

7:38 This is he, that was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

This is a beautiful passage of scripture which is our Lord Jesus Christ speaking about being brought forth from His Father. Some say this passage is strictly about wisdom but it can't be, because Jehovah has always possessed wisdom so it could never be brought forth.

Verse 22- The Hebrew word for possessed is "qanah" which means to erect or create. Obviously this passage could not be about the quality of wisdom itself since Jehovah has always had it thereby it was never created. See John 1:1 and Revelation 3:14.

Verse 23 confirms the pre existence of the Messiah Jehoshua. He was setup from everlasting before the earth was created. The word for everlasting in Hebrew is "owlam" which means properly concealed, vanishing point, time out of mind (past or future) i.e. eternity. See Genesis 1:1

Verses 24-29 confirms that our Saviour was brought forth at some point before the creation of this earth. Jehoshua was there when His Father prepared the landscape of the earth and the boundaries of the waters and the skies. Jehoshua was the channel by whom all things were made. Jehovah was the source of whom all things were made. Brought forth in Hebrew is the word "chuwl" which means pain, formed, bring forth, tremble, travail, dance, calve, grieved, grevious, wounded, shake. These are similar terms used for the birthing process hence Jehoshua being the firstborn of all creation, Revelation 3:14. These passages tell us that at some point in eternity, our Lord Jesus Christ was brought forth from His Father Jehovah. This goes in line with verse 22 where Jesus says he was possessed (erected, created by Jehovah). Verse 23 indicates this tool place sometime in eternity. Verses 24-29 indicate this bringing forth of Jesus was not a mere creating him out of nothing but rather taken from the literal bosom of His Father and born from him having the same DNA. This mirrors a child born from a woman having her DNA. The definition of being brought forth is similar to a woman's birthing of a child process. Jehovah birthed Jesus although not in the way a woman births a child but rather the way Eve was taken from Adam's bosom and was flesh of his flesh and bone of his bones. See Genesis 2:22-23.

Verses 30-31 should erase any doubt that this passage is about Jesus Christ. As Jesus being brought up with His Father Jehovah  as a Master workman in the creation of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:26, John 1:1-4),  he was daily His delight as a human son would be to a father. Jesus was always rejoicing before His Father. This verse's description of daily being Jehovah's delight and always rejoicing before Him obviously is not talking about a quality in and of itself  (wisdom) but an actual person who in this case is Jesus Christ.

What does this passage of scripture tell us about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? That at some point in eternity he was begotten, born and brought forth from His Father Jehovah. This confirms their literal Father/Son relationship. It also refutes unbiblical terminology such as co eternal, co equal and consubstantial. Some doctrines teach that Jesus and Jehovah were only role playing as Father and Son and that they are just titles but this unbiblical teaching denies clear scripture that Jesus is the literal Son of God.  Christ is equal to Jehovah in nature but not in authority (1 Corinthians 15).

Jesus did not just become God's Son at his virgin birth here on earth but He has been His Father's Son since He was brought forth in eternity. He is still Jehovah's Son even now and will always be. Scripture supports this. Do not be cheated by the vain philosophies of man (Colossians 2:8). Scripture plainly teaches that at some point in eternity Jesus had origin. Not created as the angels but born from His Father's bosom in eternity. Jesus Christ is not a son by creation as the angels are nor a son by adoption as the forgiven sinner but a Son begotten from Jehovah's bosom as the express image of God.

Proverbs 8:22-31 (ASV)

22 Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was.

24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water.

25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth;

26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world.

27 When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep,

28 When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong,

29 When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth;

30 Then I was by him, as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him,

31 Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men.

Genesis 1:26-27 (ASV)

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The above scripture is Jehovah speaking to His Son Jehoshua. He is not speaking to the Holy Spirit as men are not made as spirit creatures without bodies but rather we are made with bodies just as Jehovah and Jehoshua have albiet glorified heavenly bodies. Notice that two were made, male and female, Adam and Eve. I believe the text below describes not only how Eve was formed out of Adam but also how Jehoshua was formed out of Jehovah thereby being born, begotten and brought forth as His Son. Remember Jehovah said let us make man in our likeness and image. Adam came first just as the Father Jehovah precedes His Son Jehoshua. Eve came out of Adam's rib  (bosom) just as Jehoshua came out of His Father's bosom.

In verses 23 and 24 below, Adam says that Eve is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. Just as Eve is called woman being that she was taken out of man, rightfully Jesus can be called God as He was taken out of The Almighty God. Also, Adam and Eve being of one flesh is an example of how Jehovah and Jehoshua are one in Spirit. Just as Adam and Eve are still separate distinct individual beings while being one flesh metaphorically speaking in refrence to their unity of mind, purpose and spirit (physical also in the sense of sexual union),  the Father and the Son are separate distinct individual beings while being one in Spirit which is their mind, personality and power. They are not morphed together as one person like the Trinity doctrine teaches but their unity is through the Holy Spirit which proceeds from the Father and is given to the Son. The Father and Son's unity is through the Holy Spirit and not because they are the same person. A husband and wife become one, but of course that is speaking to their unity of mind and purpose not that they literally become the same person. So goes Jesus and Jehovah, two separate beings with unity of mind and purpose through the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 2:21-24 (ASV)

21 And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof:

22 and the rib, which Jehovah God had taken from the man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Revelation 3:14 (KJV)

14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

This passage above clearly says that Jesus Christ was the beginning of God's  (Jehovah) creation. This passage clearly refutes the Trinitarian teaching that Jesus was co eternal with the Father.

John 1:14 (KJV)

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

How could Christ be co eternal with the Father if He was begotten of Him? Some may say Christ was begotten of God at His virgn birth however the weight of evidence in scripture contradicts this as Proverbs 8 :22-31 clearly outlines Jesus being brought forth and born of the Father before the earth was created. Also John 3:16 clearly says Jehovah sent His only begotten Son to the earth. God couldn't send something He already didn't have which in this case is a Son. John 3:16 clearly states Christ was the begotten Son of God before He came to the earth.

John 3:16 (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 4:9 (KJV)

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

This passage goes right in line with John 3:16. Jehovah couldn't send something He didn't have which is a Son. Jesus was begotten of the Father meaning he came from and out of Him. This again clearly refutes the Trinitarian teaching that Jesus is co eternal with the Father. Jesus obviously has origin albeit in eternity which no finite mind can comprehend.

John 8:42 (KJV)

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Again, another passage refuting the Trinitarian teaching of Jesus being co eternal with the Father. Out of Jesus own mouth he states that he proceeded forth and came from the Father and was also sent by Him and didn't come to this world on His own. Two different things here. This first part of this passage Jesus is clearly refrencing how He came into existence and that He literally came forth and proceeded from Jehovah as a begotten Son. This clearly refutes also the false teaching that Jesus was created out of nothing (Jehovah Witness teaching). Jesus and Jehovah have the same DNA as they have a literal Father/Son relationship. They are made of the same substance however they are distinct divine beings. Just as a human son had the same DNA and are made of the same substance yet they are two separate distinct individuals. This passage of Jesus being begotten of the Father in eternity is evident all over the bible, notably in Proverbs 8:22-31 and Revelation 3:14.

In the second part of this scripture Jesus is stating that He didn't come to the earth of His own accord but was sent by His Father Jehovah. This also contradicts the notion of a Trinity as that doctrine teaches that Christ is co equal with the Father in position. If that were so then Jesus would have came to the earth on His own accord and not sent by another co equal member of the Trinity.

John 1:18 (KJV)

18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Another refrence by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that He is God's only begotten Son.

Begotten comes from the greek word "monogenes" which means only-born, i.e. sole:-only (begotten, child).

Trinitarian's try to say begotten means first in rank which is clearly false as it means only born, sole child. At some point Trinitarian's if they are honest have to admit the overwhelming evidence in scripture points to Jesus having a point of origin and being the literal Son of God rather than a co equal member of a Triune Godhead that is merely role playing as a Son to God the Father. From the abovw scripture Jesus clearly identifies Himself as Jehovah's literal only begotten Son. This means He wasn't created out of nothing which would deny His literal sonship nor is He co eternal with the Father which would also deny His literal sonship. Both views are in error and those that hold to them risk the below:

1 John 2:22 (KJV)

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Is it any wonder that the central doctrine of the antichrist (Papal Rome) is the Trinity. This doctrine denies the literal sonship of Jesus Christ. Look at the quote below from the Catholic handbook:

"The mystery of the Trinity is the central doctrine of the Catholic Faith. Upon it are based all the other teachings of the church..." Handbook for Today's Catholic, p. 11.

Our understanding of who is in The Godhead should not be a mystery. The Trinity teaching only leads to confusion of which Jehovah is not the author of. Babylon means confusion so it makes sense that Mystery Babylon (Catholicism) would create a doctrine of who God is into a confusing mystery.

According to the Trinity Jehovah didn't send His literal Son to die for us but rather a co equal, co eternal member of a triune Godhead.

Micah 5:2 (KJV)

2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

"As to when He was begotten, it is not for us to know about it in these words" (E.J. Waggoner-Christ and His righteousness pp.21,22)

We see from the above that our Saviour existed in eternity and from the weight of scripture it was in eternity that Christ was begotten of the Father. So Jesus does have a point of origin however it was in eternity which no man can know exactly when. It also isn't for us to know exactly when in eternity Christ was begotten and brought forth from His Father Jehovah. Scripture doesn't make knowing this a requirement for salvation as some would try to say.

Colossians 1:19 (KJV)

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

"In arguing the perfect eqaulity of the Father and the Son, and the fact that Christ is in the very nature God, we do not design to be understood as teaching that the Father was not before the Son. It should not be necessary to guard this point, lest some should think that the Son existed as soon as the Father; yet some go to that extreme, which adds nothing to the dignity of Christ, but rather detracts from the honor due him, since many throw the whole thing away rather than accept a theory so obviously out of harmony with the language of Scripture, that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. He was begotten, not created. He is of the substance of the Father that in him should all fullness dwell"

(E.J. Waggoner, The Signs of the Times, April 8, 1889)

Many Christians think by saying Jesus is self existent and not the literal Son of God and that He is a second member of a Triune Godhead that they are exalting him.
Think of it this way, how would you feel if people started saying you are not your Father's son or daughter and that you just came into being on your own somehow? While people that say that may think they are exalting you as that would make you unique and special, in reality you would feel bad because of your love for your father. Your identity as your fathers child is important to you and is who you are. While the people who say you came into being on your own due to their admiration of you may be well meaning, in truth they are perverting your very nature. Their intention of exalting you actually ends up being insulting to you because they are trying to rob you of your family inheritance. They are trying to cut the family ties that you have with your father. So what was intended to be an exaltation of you ends up being a devaluation. They have tried to rob you of your uniqueness of being your fathers offspring, all the more if you are an only child. Read scripture all the from Matthew to Revelation and we see a literal Father/Son relationship between Jesus and Jehovah. You will also see Jesus constantly glorify His Father and you see the love they have for each other. It's a beautiful thing, something that two co equal, co-eternal beings couldn't have.
Matthew 4:1-7 (KJV)

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Notice that twice Satan refers to Jesus as "the Son of God". Even Satan knows Jesus identity. He didn't call Jesus "Almighty God" but rather the "Son of God". Jesus then makes a reference to His Father in verse 7 by telling Satan that it is written not to tempt the Lord thy God. By Satan telling Jesus to cast himself down being that the Lord thy God will send angels to bear him up, obviously he is making a distinction between Jesus as the Son of God and the Almighty God Jehovah who would be the one sending the angels to bear Jesus up. Jesus then continues with the distinction of Him and the Almighty God by saying it is written not to tempt Him. If Jesus threw himself down expecting angels to bear Him up, He wouldn't be tempting himself as then His statement in verse 7 wouldn't make sense.  He would be tempting His Father Jehovah.

Matthew 8:28-29 (KJV)

28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Even the demons knew Jesus true identity as the Son of God. Notice they didn't call Him Almighty God but rather the Son of God. As believers in Christ we must come to a knowledge of Jesus true identity as His Father's Son instead of a member of a Triune Godhead. If Satan and the demons have this understanding and we don't it is a shame to us being that we are supposed to have the Holy Spirit (the spirit of truth) guiding us.

John 3:22-36 (KJV)

22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

24 For John was not yet cast into prison.

25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Let's look at verses 35-36 specifically. This is John the Baptist speaking and he is saying that the Father Jehovah loves the Son (Jesus Christ) so much so that He has given all things into the Son's hands. Doesn't that sound like something a father would do for a son he loves? This verse (35) really captures the literal Father/Son relationship that Jehovah and Jesus have. A natural father who has a rich inheritance and loves his son, gladly gives that inheritance to his son. The scripture means what it says, that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God and not a co-equal, co-eternal member of a triune godhead.

In verse 36, Jesus is referred to as the Son twice and that those who believe on Him have everlasting life. On the other hand those that don't believe not the Son will not have life, but suffer Jehovah's wrath. This verse makes a distinction between the Son (Jesus Christ) and God (Jehovah). See, the Father loves His Son so much that those who reject Him will suffer His wrath (Gehenna). Just like a natural father would avenge anyone not treating his son well. This verse denotes a literal Father/Son relationship between Jesus and Jehovah. Jesus is referred to as the Son not as Almighty God himself. The Son as being given all things into His hand by inheritance can rightly be called God, however He is not the Almighty God. That title belongs to the Father as Jesus is the Son of God and the Mighty God  (Isaiah 9:6).

If we go to the verses prior to 35 and 36, we see that Jesus was sent by God to speak not His own words but God's (The Father) words (verse 34). God the Father gave the Son (Jesus) the Holy Spirit  (verse 34). There are two distinct beings here, God (Jehovah) and the Son (Jesus). If Jesus was sent by God then it can be safely said that He is not God Almighty but rather God Almighty's Son. How could Jesus send himself if the scripture clearly states He was sent by someone else (God)? If God sent Jesus then it is only logical that Jesus isn't God. The scripture would have said Jesus sent himself on his own accord but it doesn't say that. If God gave Jesus the Holy Spirit, then it can be safely said that God and Jesus are two distinct beings and that Jesus is not God Almighty as how could he give himself the Holy Spirit?  Also, the passage clearly states that Jesus wasn't sent to speak His own words but God's words. How could Jesus be God Almighty if He is described as speaking someone else's (God) words? There is a distinction made between His words and God's words. This could only mean that Jesus and God (Jehovah) are two seperate beings and that God the Father has authority over Jesus Christ the Son of God. Just like a natural father has authority over his son, God the Father (Jehovah) has authority over His literal Son Jesus Christ. However this authority is rooted in love and Jesus loves His Father, so He is pleased to be subject to Him. Just as an earthly son is pleased to be subject to a loving earthly father.

Acts 9:18-20 (KJV)

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

Who did Paul preach that Jesus was? The answer = The Son of God. Do you see a pattern here? Jesus refers to Himself as the Son of God as does His followers. The devil and his demons also refer to Jesus as the Son of God. Jesus is not being preached to people as God the Son but rather the Son of God. This is because Jesus is the literal Son of Jehovah not a co equal, co-eternal member of a triune god.
