Never before has an election in this country captured the minds of the world like this 2016 election has. Many believe the future of the country is at stake and that picking the right candidate is key to getting this country either on the right path if your a conservative or a if your a liberal, a continued progressive betterment of the country.
If anything this election has proven one thing and that is that most Americans including professed Christians have their hope in an earthly saviour. Like the Israelites of old many professed Christians want their king, believing that a mere man or woman can fix the ill's of society and return the country to the glory of yesteryear.
The conservative right wing evangelicals have done their usual prostituting and polished up another republican candidate into being a "Christian" when the fruit of said candidate is obviously lacking in Godly attributes. Just like the Roman Christians in Constantine's day led by the heretic Athanasius, today's professed Churches of Christendom are desperate and lustful for worldly power. Donald Trump is a 2016 version of Constantine. No matter the fruit, polish it up and smack a "Christian" label on it.
On the other side of the spectrum, the liberals are scared to death of a Trump presidency feeling that it will put a dent in their progessive agenda to lead the country into free wheeling morals or lack thereof. Many professed Christians have even bought into the Hilary agenda fearing that in Trump there is a reincarnation of Hitler. Of course, they like the conservatives ignore the obvious lack of morals that their candidate displays.
The conservatives even feel that Trump is not part of the New World Order agenda and that he is a rogue. They apparently ignore is connections to Jesuits and their schools. Hilary's connection to Jesuits is clear, look at her Vice Presidential candidate, the same is true for Trump's Vice Presidential candidate. Do you see where all this leads? Confusion which is Babylon and Christians have fell for it. Much like the Advent movement in the mid 1800's, this election revealed where the hearts and hopes are of many professed Christians. Instead of their hope being in Jesus Christ our Jehovah and in the Heavenly Jerusalem they have shown that there hope is an earthly saviour and that there treasure is here in heaven. Many Christians during this election cycle have ignored Paul's counsel to Timothy:
2 Timothy 2:3-5 (KJV)
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Unfortunately many Christians have declared where their citizenship is by getting themselves entangled in the confusion (Babel) of the political world.
Philippians 3:20 (NKJV)
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Thankfully Christians will get a redo, because if this had been the mark of the beast crisis most would have failed. Knowing what the mark of the beast is will not be enough to refuse it. It's being dead to the world and being sold out for Jesus Christ that enable one to withdtand the severe pressure to resist taking the Papal mark. This election cycle revealed that most Christians still have not divorced themselves from the world and when push comes to shove they will hold on to their earthly treasure and support anyone who can facilitate that.
The year was 1999 likely in December of that year and many were talking about what the new millennium had in store. I was watching the Oprah Winfrey show and she was doing a special on the upcoming millennium. Oprah asked the audience to chime in on what they thought could make the country a better place in the new millennium and return it to prosperity financially and emotionally. A Baptist pastor stood up from the audience and was given the microphone, what he said has been etched in my mind ever since. The Pastor that once you scramble eggs you can't put them back together. He said that this country has left out God and the bible and now that the only hope was the return of Jesus Christ. Oprah then said dismissively "that has too many biblical connotations. The Pastor then defiantly said "Well that is your problem if you think that has too many biblical connotations."
I will never forget that exchange and it has proven to be true, the country has fallen into moral degradation like never before. We also now sit at the cusp of financial disaster, a possible world war, a flood of homelessness and a severe drug problem. Sodomy has been licensed and celebrated and now transgendersism is also following in it's footsteps as being a protected and celebrated lifestyle. Many young people today are suffering from identity issues and are torn between their natural gender and the opposite gender.
Technology, while a valuable tool at times has, has had a devastating impact on people's social skills especially our young. Most people are enamored with their telescreens whether the big box in the living room or the one in their hand. Even many older people have given their allegiance to the telescreens. Entertainment and Sports are the new idols today. Breads and circuses have people occupied thereby leaving little time for relationships especially the most important one with God and His Son Jesus Christ.
Racial division in this country is worse than it has been in a long time even affecting the Church. Suspicion of one's neighbors is also rampant. Terrorism in the homeland is now one of our daily fears. Personal freedoms are slowly evaporating.
The selection of Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump as presidential candidates are a reflection of the society that chose them as their representatives. America, don't be upset, Hilary and Donald are you! The selection of these two show how far this country has fallen in being able to discern good from evil. While candidates of the past were far from perfect their sins were usually under the table. With these two, much of their moral filth has been made public yet they retain immense popularity among their followers.
Christians who don't learn from this lesson of the 2016 election cycle and realize that we are not to entangle ourselves in the affairs of this life and put our hope in earthly saviour's, will be ripe to take the mark of the Papal beast.
My brethen, this country is on the eve of destruction. Where is your Hope?
Hebrews 11:13-16 (KJV)
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
I believe that we are now living in Jesus' millennial Kingdom (Colossians 1:12-13). The true Sabbath of the new covenant is the Davidic King, Jesus Christ (Shiloh). My blessed hope is the Second Advent of Jehovah's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, at the last day. Those in the Kingdom of Jesus will preach his Davidic Kingship as a present reality on the throne of David in New Jerusalem. Those who call on the name of Jehovah in these last days will be saved (Joel 2:32). Psalm 2:7!
