Daniel 7:7-14 study

My Daniel 7;7-14 study with helps from Uriah Smith's "Daniel and the Revelation"

7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.9I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.10A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.11I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.12As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.13I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Verse 7, this fourth beast dreadful and powerful is the Roman empire who blitzkrieged the nations under it's feet and devoured and brake in pieces as the world has never been. This beast had 10 horns representing the 10 kingdoms that it eventually split into which were the Huns, the Ostrogoths, the Visigoths, the Franks, the Vandals, the Suevi, the Burgundians, the Heruli, the Anglo-Saxons, and the Lombards.

Verse 8, a little horn arose from the 10 horns and this little horn plucked up 3 horns from before it. The Reformers along with many in the early wilderness Church such as the Waldenses believed the little horn to be the Papacy. The 3 horns that the Papacy plucked up were the Ostrogoths, Heruli and Vandals. The final destruction of the 3 Arian Christian tribes began the 1260 year reign of the Papacy with the Justinian code giving the Pope supreme power over the Church and the empire. This was 538 AD. The Arian Christian tribes stood in the way of the Papacy having full dominion over the Church and the empire as a whole. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man showing that this little horn was not like the other kingdoms and was a seat of power that an individual sat in. This horn spoke great things with his mouth. The Papacy perfectly fits this description with his claims to be the holy father, vicar of Christ and the claim of infallibility.

Verse 9, Jehovah God the Father takes the throne of judgment. For only the Father could be the Ancient of days as His Son Jehoshua was begotten from Him and thereby in point of time the Father is greater (older) than the Son. Those who believe in the impersonality of God and that he has no form or shape have to admit that Jehovah God is described here as a personal being with a form and a shape.

A look into the heavenly sanctuary

Revelation Chapter 4 (KJV)

1After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.2And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.3And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.4And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.5And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.6And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.7And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.8And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Jehovah God Almighty is being praised by the four beasts and 24 elders as the one who sits on the throne and the one who lives forever denoting His immortality that He alone possesses innately (1 Timothy 6:16). We.also see the seven lamps of fire (the seven branch candlestick in the holy place which is the first apartment of the sanctuary (verse 5) and thisis the Spirit of Jehovah, His perfect Holy Spirit symbolized by the number of perfection "7" (Isaiah 11). In verse 2 we see the same description of Jehovah the Ancient of days throne being set in heaven as given in verse 9 of Daniel 7.

Revelation 5:11 (KJV)

11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

These heavenly beings are engaged with Messiah in the work of the investigative judgment which commenced in 1844.

Verse 10 of Daniel, the thousands of thousands who minister to Jehovah in the heavenly sanctuary are heavenly beings who attend to the Most High God. The closing up of the ministration of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary is the work of investigative judgment introduced. The books are opened and all the cases of everyone who has ever lived come up for examination before the great tribunal (2 Corinthians 5:10). The verdicts will be determined prior to the Messiah's second advent. Either eternal life or eternal death.

Verse 11, Daniel beholds the arrogance of the beast and the pompous words he speaks yet the little horn will be slain and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame (2 Thessalonians 2:8, Revelation 19:20). The Papacy as noted above fits this description as no other religious leader so arrogantly tries to place himself in the temple (believers minds) of the Church as God and Messiah. Remember he claims the titles of "holy father" and "vicar of Christ" and infallibility.

Verse 12, the four beast kingdoms, Babylon,  Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome have their dominion taken away which then removes the restraint that allows the man of sin (papacy) to be revealed (2nd Thessalonians 2:6).

Verse 13, the Son of man who is the Son of God Jehoshua is brought before His Father Jehovah in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary.

Verse 13, Jehoshua receives the Kingdom at the close of His High Priest ministration in the most holy place. The Son of God receives the Kingdom before His second advent  (Luke 19:10-12). The nations, tongues and peoples that serve the Messiah will be those from every tribe who are righteous by faith in the Son of God (1 John 5:-4-5). No unbelievers or anyone who defileth will be allowed entry into the kingdom but only those who keep the commandments of Jehovah (Revelation 22:14). The words uttered by the Son of God make it clear that only the holy and righteous will be allowed entry into paradise. The close of probation and the declaration below which ends the opportunity for sinners to repent. There is no second opportunity for salvation after Messiah closes up His High Preist ministration.

Revelation 22:11 (KJV)

11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

The teaching of an earthly millennium where sinful men and women will dwell with the saints and Jehoshua is unbiblical as everyone has to make their decision for Messiah in this life. Jehoshua clearly says that Nothing that defileth or maketh a lie will enter His Kingdom. The age to come earthly millennium believers hold a dangerous doctrine that teaches sinful men will enter into Jehoshua's Kingdom and be given a second chance at salvation. This is false as the bible teaches the heavenly hope and it is only for the saints.

Revelation 21:24 (KJV)

24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Only those who are saved enter the Kingdom of Jehovah God and His Son Jehoshua Messiah.  The wicked are utterly dashed to pieces at the second advent of Messiah (Isaiah 24;1-5, Malachi 4, Revelation 19:17-21).

2nd Thessalonians 2:12 (KJV)

12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

This is what happens at the second advent,  all who believed not the truth that Jehoshua is the Son of God by faith and do not keep the commandments of Jehovah will be damned!! (Revelation 12:17, Revelation 14:12, Revelation 22:14).

Only those who are deceived can read the description of the utter destruction of unbelievers and still think that some will enter an earthly millennium with Jehoshua as King.
