Are the 10 Commandments still for today?

According to the law and the testimony!

Acts 7:35-38 (KJV)

35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

So, if you go by what many pulpit preachers in Christendom say, the 10 Commandments are no longer applicable in the New Covenant. However, look at verse 38 above and notice that Stephen calls the 10 Commandments "the lively oracles" meaning they are still active. The greek rendering of "lively" is zao which means to live, life, lively, quick. Stephen confirms that the 10 commandments are still alive and active.

Acts 7:52-53 (KJV)

52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

Jehovah wrote the 10 Commandments with his very own fingers (Exodus 31:18) and angels ordained it. According to verse 38 it was an Angel that delivered the lively oracles (Decalogue) on behalf of Jehovah. This Angel was likely the preexistent Messiah Jehoshua (Jesus).

Hebrews 5:12 (KJV)

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

This passage is very revealing about whether the 10 commandments still apply in the New Covenant. Remember, the oracles of God (Jehovah) as we have seen in Acts 7 are the 10 Commandments. Look at what the above passage says, the first principles a Christian is supposed to learn, are the oracles (10 Commandments) of Jehovah. As a matter of fact these 10 commandments are considered rudimentary and the milk of the word of God. The author (possibly Paul) even admonishes these Christians (likely Jewish) that because they need to learn the first principles of the 10 Commandments (oracles) they are without experience of the word of righteousness. They are not even to be teachers of the word as the author says they are a babe in the faith.

If a Pastor doesn't believe that the 10 commandments are still lively and active, he is not to teach the word of God until he learns the first principles of those 10 lively oracles. This is why in Isaiah 8:20 it says:

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."

Do we believe the word of God or not? The scripture clearly says if those who teach or speak the word of God, don't do it according to the law and the testimony (10 Commandments) there is no light in them. These are the words of scripture not mine. My fellow commandment keepers, we are not to listen to the pulpit preachers of Christendom who say Jehovah's Royal Law, no longer applies in the New Covenant dispensation. Why is this? Because according to Isaiah 8:20 there is no light in them and according to Hebrews 5:12 they are a babe in the word of Jehovah and need to re learn the first principles of the 10 Commandments (oracles).

The above may be harsh but satan is sneaky and through his wiles, he will use  preachers to deceive Christians into thinking it's okay to break Jehovah's law. Don't let any theologian or pulpit preacher steal your reward by convincing you that the 10 commandments are still not alive. Jesus takes His Father's law very seriously:

Matthew 5:19 (KJV)

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The above warning from Jesus has been disregarded by much of Christendom and theologians, pastor's and teacher's throughout the professing Christian churches are storing up for themselves a day of reckoning before the throne of Jesus and Jehovah. They are teaching Jehovah's precious children to break the supposedly "least" of His commandments (the Seventh-day Sabbath). They have also taught men to break another commandment as well but that's another story for another day.

1 Peter 4:11 (KJV)

11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Peter confirms that if ANY man speak, let him do so speaking the 10 Commandments (oracles) of Jehovah. These commandments are the very utterances of Jehovah God as given at Sinai and written with His own fingers. Remember from Hebrews 5:12, that the 10 commandments are the first principles of the Christian faith and these should be taught by faithful ministers of God's word.

Oracles comes from the greek word "logion" meaning an utterance of God.

Exodus 31:18 (ASV)

18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Psalm 19:7

7 The law of Jehovah is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.

Not only is Jehovah's law perfect but it is able to convert the soul. Satan has lied to many people in Christendom,.telling them that the law of Jehovah is a bondage. Satan has done this through the theologians and pulpit preachers in Christendom. Do you believe the word of God or the philosophies of men?

Colossians 2:8 (KJV)

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour spoke His Father's words when he was here on earth. Jesus was the Faithful and True Witness and He could never teach the breakingof His Father's commandments  (Decalogue).

2 Timothy 3:14-17 (KJV)

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Look at the above passage and you will see confirmation that the 10 commandments which are part of the sacred writings mentioned in verse 15 are able make us wise unto salvation. This destroys any teaching from any church or Pastor that preaches that the10 commandments are no longer applicable to the Christian in the New covenant or that they are a bondage. This passage also confirms Psalm 19:7. It is the sacred writings, which include the 10 commandments, through faith in Christ Jesus that make us wise unto salvation. By obeying the first commandment and having no other gods before us and only Jehovah, we will then accept His Son Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour thereby gaining eternal life (John 17:3)

Verse 16 says that every scripture inspired by God (Jehovah) is profitable for teaching, reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness.

Ask yourself this, were the 10 Commandments inspired by Jehovah or not?
